BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY

Now is the time to invest in some indexes....for the long term. I'm talking, I just invested $1000 in AMRMX. I don't plan on selling until 2030, so hold on tight for the long haul...

Abandon Ship?

Over the past three days, I have suffered substantial losses. 16.72 percent of my entire portfolio to be exact. Why am I not worried? Because that's part of getting rich slowly. I'm not looking for a 100% rate of return on my investment. I know that isn't feasible. The whole point of investing is to watch your money slowly grow and part of that is watching helplessly as the stocks you own take a dip. Am I selling tomorrow? No. Most of the stocks I own, I'm going to hold for at least a year, except for the couple on the PINK Sheets I'm looking to unload as soon as they turn a profit. The market is a rollercoaster, sometimes you have to just put your hands up and scream until the next slow climb.

Back to the drawing board

Bought PRAN @ 1.63 on 05/04

I bought PRAN May 5 when the market was down 250 points thinking this was a great opportunity for a buy. However, the market is still down this morning 05/05 and PRAN is down to 1.53. This was a high risk high reward buy and am holding because this stock still has the potential for over 100% gains...

Hindsight

Well, I don't know if you checked the market today, but it's getting crushed. Buying BWLD at 41.80 doesn't seem too brilliant at this point since today it's at 40.46. Would have saved me 3% just to wait. Overall portfolio is down 3% today, so we'll just have to sit and wait for them to go back up so I can unload EHSI, BLGW, SEH, DAR, and MEG at their profit targets. Watchlist Wednesday updates coming tomorrow

Bought BWLD @ 41.80

Earnings for BWLD came out on Wednesday and although they made $667 million dollars, it was around 200 million lower than the first quarter of 2009, so naturally people were becoming skeptical and the stock slide a little bit (approx 15%). I love Buffalo Wild Wings, especially right before football season. Getting in now would be pretty logical. I put in an order at 41.80 and sure enough on Thursday it slid down for just long enough that my trade was executed. I'm gonna hold for about 6-8 months and unload early Feb. I'll keep you posted.

JUST BOUGHT TSL @ 24.85

TSL is announcing earnings later this week which shoud be solid due to their conservative guidance at the end of the 4th quarter in 2009. Hoping to get a good early start with this one. Slow and Steady my friends...

PRAN has been added to the watchlist...

The Lion's Current Portfolio

The catalyst to this blog was selling CPF on Friday @ 3.75. I bought it for 1.50 (1.43 + 7 dollar commision fee) on 10/30/2009. Profit of 150% percent. I got a little cocky and thought I should post all my transactions so everyone can see how easy it is, especially in the market today. So, here is my current porfolio and I'm sure Frito will post his after:

Bought AXP @ 25.20 per share, currently at 47.14
Bought BLGW @ .8076 and again at .5284, currently at .674
